The Integrity Program enhances the culture of integrity at Nexen by encouraging practices that drive ethical decision-making and create long-term shareholder value.

The program is designed to promote awareness, appreciation and application of Nexen's company values and principles and provides employees with a variety of resources to help them integrate ethical business conduct into everyday decisions.

Integrity Resource Centre
The Integrity Program is overseen and managed by the Integrity Resource Centre, whose goal is to foster a culture of integrity by providing education, increasing awareness, engaging employees in integrity initiatives and managing integrity issues.

Providing employees and external stakeholders with a safe environment to raise concerns is one of the most important elements of an ethical culture. When integrity concerns are raised internally and managed properly, companies mitigate risk and loss of reputation.

The Integrity Resource Centre ensures that employees and other stakeholders have a safe place to raise a concern, and that if a concern is raised, it is taken seriously and addressed. They are also responsible for ensuring that integrity issues are investigated and reported to Nexen's management and Board of Directors.

The Integrity Team is resourced by staff at our head office in Calgary and a global network of Integrity Leaders. The Integrity Team is also supported by subject matter experts residing in Nexen's governance, security, audit and human resources departments as well as by external advisor(s).

Integrity Leaders
Integrity Leaders are employees that Nexen has designated to play a consultative role with co-workers and to help monitor the ethical climate of the organization. They support the Integrity Program by delivering integrity education, being an advisor to employees and helping to manage integrity incidents when necessary.
