Jenna Berg, drilling engineer in Nexen’s International Drilling and Completions group was recently featured in Nickle’s Profiler Magazine, a trade publication for the oilpatch industry and affiliate of Nickle’s Daily Oil Bulletin. Berg, 27, joined Nexen three years ago as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering.
Monica Majcher, another EIT at Nexen is also featured in the story. Also a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, Majcher, 27, holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in geology and geological engineering and currently works in Nexen’s Canadian Oil and Gas division.
In the article, Berg speaks to Nexen’s integrity and how the company has contributed to her career development.
“Because it’s a big company it’s allowed me to move around and take on different roles and responsibilities,” Berg says in the article. “They turned out to be really great opportunities for me and I think it shows Nexen is looking out for my career.”
For Majcher, a major benefit of choosing Nexen as an employer was the level of responsibility assigned to her.
“You are making a difference,” Majcher explains in the article. “You are doing something that’s contributing to the company’s success.”
