Alberta Venture magazine has named Nexen as one of the Most Respected Companies in Alberta in the environment category. The award was announced in the May issue of the publication.

The magazine conducts an annual province-wide survey through Leger Research Corporation to find out which individuals and companies are well respected in six different areas of expertise including environmental stewardship, corporate performance, culture of innovation, human resource practices, community involvement and corporate leader.

The environmental stewardship category recognizes companies who demonstrate an awareness of their impact on the environment and who have developed an active effort to preserve, protect or enhance the environment.
