Nexen has been named one of Alberta’s Top 25 Employers for 2007 by Mediacorp Canada Inc., the same organization that lists Canada’s Top 100 Employers. A list of winning companies was featured in the October 14, 2006 edition of the Calgary Herald.

Nexen was selected based on information submitted in the application to the Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition. Companies are selected based on criteria including health and benefits, employee communications, physical workplace and social atmosphere at the office.

“We are very proud of be recognized as one of Alberta’s top employers,” says Nancy Foster, vice president of Human Resources and Corporate Services. “Being included on this list is a compliment to our employees. Their commitment to high performance has made our company one of the best places to work in our province.”

The list includes companies from every region and industry. Other companies that made the list of Alberta’s Top 25 Employers include Suncor Energy Inc., Enmax Corporation, City of Medicine Hat, Epcor, Shell Canada Limited and Syncrude Canada Ltd.
