RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way of easily sharing and automatically updating news and other Web content in real time. In other words, as soon as a news item is added to a Web site, you can be informed of it through an RSS feed. All you need to do is subscribe to the information feed of your choice and select a news reader (or aggregator) in order to read the file.

How to access RSS feeds
There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "XML" orange button next to the feed, or simply drag the RSS icon onto your news reader.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For example, Google, My Yahoo! or My AOL users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page.
