At Nexen, the way we do business matters. Our commitment to helping meet the world’s growing energy needs in a responsible manner has been recognized by our inclusion in a number of sustainability rankings. Two of the top Canadian lists feature Nexen:
- Corporate Knights Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada
- Maclean’s/Jantzi-Sustainalytics 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada

The Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada list is the flagship ranking of Corporate Knights magazine, a Canadian publication dedicated to sustainability and social responsibility. Nexen has been on this list eight times since 2002. This is the second time we’ve made the top 10.
The Maclean’s/Jantzi-Sustainalytics 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada is a newer ranking; this is the third year for the survey. Jantzi-Sustainalytics, a global leader in sustainability analysis, partners with Maclean’s magazine to present the list. Companies are assessed on the basis of a broad range of social, environmental and governance indicators. Nexen has been on this list every year.
