Co-op and Engineering Programs

Nexen offers co-op and engineering internship opportunities which allow students to gain practical experience and contribute to projects in their field of study.

Co-op Program

These paid work terms, lasting four or eight months, enable students to develop technical skills to compliment their academic learning. Students, recruited from both universities and colleges, not only meet Nexen’s short-term needs, but provide a potential source of future full-time employees.

To be eligible for the co-op program, students must be enrolled in a co-op program sponsored by an accredited post-secondary institution.

Typically, we post these employment opportunities three times a year: September, January and May.

Engineering Internship Program

Nexen offers paid engineering internships that allow students to gain practical experience and develop technical skills through 12 or 16 month work terms. The program also allows Nexen to evaluate students for new graduate opportunities, and for students to determine if Nexen is the employer for them.

To be eligible for this program, students must be enrolled in an internship program sponsored by an accredited post-secondary institution.

We post employment opportunities two times per year - in January for a May start date and May for a September start date.
