The newest area of Nexen's ReachOut program, is our Employee Volunteer Program, which is being implemented in select global locations - Canada, Norway, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The Employee Volunteer Program provides options to support our employees' volunteer work in their communities.
Nexen Volunteer Days:
The employee volunteer program provides all eligible regular full-time and part-time Nexen employees (minimum of 20 hours per week) with up to two paid days leave annually to volunteer with local charities and/or other recognized community organizations.
Nexen Volunteer Grants:
Nexen employees volunteering a minimum of 40 hours of their personal time with a recognized charitable or amateur sports organization are eligible to apply for a grant to be paid to that organization (subject to the rules of the program).
Grants are divided into two categories;
- $250 for amateur sports organizations, and
- $1,000 for charitable / not-for-profit organizations
Employees may be eligible for both categories in a calendar year provided they have accumulated the required number of personal volunteer hours in each category.
Volunteers bring a human face to Nexen and show the value that we bring as neighbours, partners and employers in the communities where we live and work.
