Nexen’s Board of Directors oversees our efforts to manage health, safety, environmental and social risks. The directors on the Health, Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility (HSE&SR) Committee meet at least five times a year to review objectives and performance and to receive updates from senior management.

With our internal HSE&SR stewardship process, leading and lagging performance indicators are reviewed regularly by divisional leadership and then by an Executive HSE&SR Management Committee that includes the CEO. This committee also monitors Nexen’s approach and performance on strategic issues such as process safety management and climate change.
